TrackUp

TrackUp is the section of the app that deals with the survey of data via Bluetooth connection with the glucometer or with a future inclusion of it into the smartphone. It’s important to point out that already exists a glucometer, iBG-Star by Sanofi-Aventis, that connects directly to the Apple iPhone or iPod touch. Data are mapped according to the values established by Scientific Diabetes Societies: depending on the BG levels, the audio track selected by the user, is distorted.

VIDEO SCENARIO/ It describes a typical day of a diabetic teenager using TrackUp, TuneUp’s menu.

From the top of the main screen, as you saw in the video scenario, the user can get into three sub-section: editor, suggest and save. The editor section gives the user the chance to experiment with insulin, food and physical activity parameters to understand how to prevent future hypo- or hyperglycemia. The suggest section offers help when editing the track, showing the user past changes on similar glycemic levels; save represents the saving option.

PROCESS/ The logic of TrackUp follows basically few steps: the user starts testing his/her blood glucose level and, whenever he/she wants, can use TrackUp to listen to how he/she is going and learn and improve his/her management of the disease experimenting with the different parameters.
